Holiday Celebration // Snowflake Nail Art!!

This has to be my favorite snowflake nail design I ever did! I wanted to do a holiday mani without doing the typical red, green, & gold nails. lol So I was thinking more of a bright holiday design instead and this is what I came up with! The first picture is the most color accurate of them all, but it still gives this polish no justice to how it looks in person. When I get my new camera (hopefully soon) I am going to make sure it has exceptional macro capabilities, enough to capture the smallest spec of glitter & shimmer. I just hope I can find it, and in my price range lol. But I did a few layers of different colors on my nails to make the glitter more multi-dimensional. I used some polishes that had contrasting colors of flecks to give the mani more visual interest. Although you cannot tell in the pics, the purple nails have small blue flecks of shimmer, and the blue nails have, you guessed it, small flecks of purple shimmer. To avoid any confusion here is my product list, and if you own some of these polishes you are well aware of the joy they create when using them in layers ..

Purple Nails
Petites Color Fever "Raspberry Ice" (base color) 1 coat
Sally Hansen HD "LCD" (layering color) 1 coat
Orly "Bubbly Bombshell" (main color) 2 coats

Blue Nails
Orly "Halley's Comet" .. 2 coats
Pure Ice "Busted" .. 1 thin coat

Decorations
Snowflake Image "BM 14"
Konad Special Polish "White"
All rhinestones from ebay =)

And I have some pics that I took with my phone in between times that I didn't have a digi cam on me, so excuse the quality although they aren't too bad for phone pics. lol
Here is the Xmas mani I just took off before I did my current one. I really love how the ring finger came out! I just might have to do that again for my actual Christmas nails. & as you might be able to tell, that nail was inspired by my most recent post of nail art scans, but I did it a bit differently.

And this is my mani from Thanksgiving. I know, not very Thanksgiving-y but I just reallllyyyy didn't want to wear brown nails that day. lol I was in much more of a pink mood and it matched the scarf I was wearing so it was still a *win* in my opinion. lol

On another note, I wonder if I am the only person who does this. I always want to wear nail colors at the wrong time. For example, I want to wear pink on thanksgiving. Or in the summer I want to wear black, and during the winter I want to wear bright summery colors. I want to do purple and blue nails when its a week before xmas, etc. lol Does anyone else do that too? It isn't only with nails though, I must admit. I am like that about everything. When it is summer I can't wait till its colder outside and I can get comfy in my layers of clothes, and as soon as it is winter, I can't wait to get into shorts and sandals.

Anyways, enough rambling. I have some extra late Christmas shopping to do & some more pics to edit for my next post. I hope everyone has all their shopping done and can just relax this week! I will post soon loves!!

Splatter Nail Art Design & Tutorial!!

So for this post I have a splatter nail art design with a tutorial! This is my 3rd splatter mani but this is the first splatter mani I posted since my camera was broken. This design is so easy, simple, and quick to do. It's a great technique to master because this design can be used in different ways with different colors. It is also great for holidays and incorporating holiday colors. This would be an awesome design to do for Halloween with some orange and black polish!

Black Color: Sally Hansen "Midnight in NY"
Blue Color: Orly "Frisky"
Purple Color: Pure Ice "Outrageous"

Have you done a splatter nail art design? What colors did you use? If you have any links to your design feel free to leave them in the comments. I would love to check them out! =)

Bundle Monster Hawaiian Nail Art Design!

Here is a design that I created for the end of summer. I was practicing color combos and came up with this by mistake. I think I used the image upside down too. lol But nonetheless, I loved the way it turned out. The gold polish underneath kinda made the nail art design look a bit like foil if it caught the right light.

Gold Color: Orly "Luxe"
Purple Color: Pure Ice "Scandal"
Flower Image: BM 225

BTW .. I am still having trouble replying to your comments for some reason! Whats even more annoying is that I cannot leave comments on other people's blogs either!! GRR!!! I think I need to de-virus my comp, but I will try my hardest to fix these technical difficulties as soon as possible!!

Peace Sign Nail Art Design & Poll Results

This peace sign nail art design was completely unplanned but I absolutely love the way it came out. I knew I wanted to do a multi-colored nail stamp and when I saw the peace sign I figured I could make it work. So I chose my colors around the design and this is what I came up with. I created the multi-color peace sign by applying a line of blue polish, then a line of purple polish, followed by another line of blue polish over the peace sign on my image plate. I would have made a tutorial since it is hard to describe, but my camera is having technical difficulties and isn't reading my SD cards. But once I figure it out- I will do a nail tutorial using the same technique. =)

Dark Purple (Base) Color: Sally Hansen "Pronto Purple"
Blue Color: Pure Ice "PussyCat"
Purple Color: Pure Ice "Outrageous"
Image Plate: BM 07
Rhinestones & Hexagons: Ebay.com

Now onto the poll results. I asked all my lovely readers which one of their nails broke the most and the "index" finger won hands down. Which leads me to the question, what is it with the index finger? Because my index finger loves to break. Seriously, browse through my nail art gallery and you will notice in about 80% of the pictures I have a broken, short, and stumpy index finger. lol Although, this isn't a problem for everyone. There was 10 people that voted who must have amazing genes that blessed them thick perfect nails, because they don't break. It is either good genes or they have some amazing nail secret for thick strong nails that they better share with us! =) lol
I will think of a new poll question to add hopefully later today. I also have some new designs for you that I will post by this weekend. =)

Spring Time Pedicure Nail Art Design | Bedding Inspired

Here is my latest pedicure. It is spring themed and it was actually inspired from a comforter I saw on Target's website. Bedding might seem like quite an odd place to draw inspiration from, but I encourage you to take a look at some bedding or even fabrics. Their designs can be easily created by layering nail stamping images like I did here. There was a few other comforters I wanted to try to create nail designs for, like this one that I have the perfect image for on my first set of BM image plates. Surprisingly, I do not have a nude polish (I will fix that though) so that design will have to wait. =P Here is a list of the products I used...

Light Pink Color: Essie "Van D'Go" (well it is more of a light peach color)
Bright Pink Color: Wet'N'Wild "Tickled Pink"
Light Purple Color: China Glaze "Spontaneous"
Dark Purple Color: Pure Ice "Scandal"
Image Plate: BM 15
Rhinestones & Hexagons: Ebay.com

KONAD PEDICURE| Cute Spring Bright Pink & Blue Pedicure Nail Art Design

This is my latest Konad pedicure. I did a design very similar to this a while back, but never took pics. =( So since the colors worked well for Spring, and since Spring officially starts tomorrow- I figured this would be the perfect time to try this pedicure out again. I LOVE this color combo and have some manis planned out for summer with the same color scheme.

Pink Color: Sinful Colors "Pink Forever" 2 coats
2nd Pink Color: Sally Hansen "LCD" 2 coats
Blue Color: Pure Ice "Pussycat"
Black Color: Sinful Colors "Black on Black"

PEDICURE NAIL ART DESIGNS | Black & White Pedicure

Ignore the pink fuzzy from my sock on the close up picture. lol I didn't even notice it till I got the pics uploaded on the computer and zoomed in. haha.

White Color: Sinful Colors "Snow Me White"
Black Color: Sinful Colors "Black On Black"
Gray Color: Pure Ice "Kiss Me Here"
Rhinestones, Pearls, Hexagons: DollarNailArt.com, Joanns.com, Ebay.com

I need to post more pedicure designs, especially since most of my top viewed posts are for "pedicure" searches. Actually, I just need to paint my toenails more often, I wait weeks at a time to change the polish on my toes! =\ But to my defense, it is still winter so NO ONE sees my feet, except for my boyfriend. lol So definately as it starts to get warmer & flip flops become the shoe of choice again, I will be posting more pedicure designs. In the meantime, I don't want to waste any of my precious rhinestones and nail art decorations painting my toenails once or twice a week. So maybe, depending on how much free time I have, I'll try to post a pedicure design once or twice a month.

CUTE NAIL ART DESIGN | Purple Deco Nail Art

I love this design! Of course, it is inspired by Japanese nail art which has became my new thing. I am still going to continue doing nail stamping and all that good stuff but my manis will be more japan-esque from now on. One of the things that I love about deco nail art is that it is SUPER EASY and the end result is always beautiful. Oh and before I forget, the necklace in my hand is from Forever21.

Light Purple Color: Sinful Colors "Purple Diamond"
Medium Purple Color: Sally Hansen Insta Dry "Pronto Purple"
Dark Purple Color: Pure Ice "Scandal"
Nail Striper Gold & Silver: Bought them both from the dollar store! =)
Rhinestones & Beads: DollarNailArt.com && Joanns.com

Another thing, the other day at work I managed to break like 4 nails!! It is always the corner that breaks and I am forced to trim the rest of my nails. But hopefully I will be having better luck with having stronger nails. In addition to using a nail strengthener and nail grow polish under my base coat, I am starting to take vitamins. Every girl I knew that was pregnant and taking prenatal vitamins were always bragging about how strong and thick their nails and hair have become and I have to admit that I was getting really jealous lol. So when I went to the store with my Mom she helped me pick out the best vitamins without having to take the prenatal ones. Since our nails grow painfully slow, it could very well be a long time till I can see the results. And even though I am a fan of instant gratification, I am going to keep up with these vitamins for the next 3-6 months and I will let you know how well they worked.

I have a countdown on my phone for the very last date that I should be receiving all my nail art goodies from China. I have 23 days till I hopefully get them in the mail and I can post pics of everything. I wish they would come sooner!! I am going to start brainstorming Valentines Day nail designs so I will be ready to paint and post as soon as I get them!

DECO NAIL ART | Funky Deco French Tip Nails

This design was inspired from a Japanese mani I saw online. I wish I could find it again so I could post the pic, but I have had no such luck. =( The gold circles are actually links I cut out from a necklace. I wish the pics were better quality but I took them in the late afternoon in the freezing cold while trying not to shake or shiver. I also hate it when I take pics and they look sooo good on the camera then once you upload them they are not as clear as I thought they would be and I don't have time to retake them. Yeah, that happens to me more times then I would like to admit. lol

So anyways, my posting is slowing down due to 2 reasons. Firstly, me and my boyfriend are renovating our bedroom. The water heater broke in our room and we came home one day with half of our carpet soaking wet! And OMG the smell was horrible so we just decided that we would get new carpets and finally take the ugly wood paneling down from the walls that have been there since the house was built like 100 yrs ago. We have been spending most of our time moving all the furniture out and scraping the really ugly 1830's wallpaper off. lol But hopefully by early February the room will be finished and all brand new looking. We are getting new lighting in the room also so it should be bright enough for me to take pics and hopefully record videos inside, instead of waiting for the day I have natural light. Reason 2. School just started again =( Since this is my last semester, I had a limited number of courses to take and I have one of the crappiest schedules I ever had in my college years. lol But I am still going to do my nails and take pics, but I might be a little slower on actually posting them.

Back to the mani. Everything I used is listed below ...

Navy Blue Color: Pure Ice "All night long"
Mint Green Color: Sinful Colors "Mint Apple"
Hot Pink Color: Petites Color Fever "Raspberry Ice"
Grey Color: Pure Ice "Kiss Me Here"
Rhinestones & Pearls: DollarNailArt.com .. Etsy.com
Top Coat: Seche Vite

I have another design I am going to post later today & I think I found my SD card with some of my winter manis too so maybe I can get those up too....

WINTER NAIL DESIGN | Deco Winter Sparkle Nail Art

deco nail art winter nail art

Base (Light Pink) Color: Sinful Colors "Glass Pink"
Light Blue Color: Pure Ice "Outrageous"
Dark Blue Color: Orly "Hailey's Commet"
Rhinestones & Pearls: Etsy.com
Silver Chain: Joanns.com
I have a few more designs I have yet to post, but they are on an SD card hiding somewhere in my room. Hopefully I will find it soon and I can get those posts up..... This is my most recent nail design. I really wish I had more pictures but it was snowing today && windy as hell and I was shaking like a leaf while taking the pics. Needless to say, most of the pics came out blurry. After doing this design, I don't think I will ever be able to have a simple design on my nails again lol. .. On another note, I ordered a bunch of nail art foils along with some other nail art doo-dads from DollarNailArt && should be getting them this week. I will post pics && a review once I get them in. I am planning on doing a massive nail art haul this week and order a bunch of rhinestones, pearls, confetti, glitter && all that fun stuff. I noticed that a lot of the online nail supply stores in the US don't have the best selection and don't even carry the really cute deco nail supplies. So I will be forced to order all my new nail art from China && Japan. The upside, I found some amazingly cute nail art I couldn't find anywhere else, should have enough supplies after this purchase to do lots and lots of mani's and pedi's, and they are really affordable compared to the nail art in the US. The one and only downside, THE SHIPPING!! I will have to wait pretty much a month to get everything in the mail. =( And FYI I am the most impatient person when it comes to shipping && also the worst luck when it comes to shipping. But once I get them, oh it's ON! I will be designing my nails like there is no tomorrow.. I already have 32234 ideas in mind. =P .. I should be getting them right around February so I will be sure to do some of the cutest valentine's day nails. Also I am going to start designing like a full image of step by step pictures on how I do my designs. I plan on starting this with my new years nail design but we'll see how it goes. I also want to start getting video tutorials up soon too. The thing is, I have a horrible time trying to get really good detailed pictures & videos without natural sunlight. Since I am either at work or class during the daylight, it's so difficult to get nice lighting. If you have any tips let me know. But I am determined to figure this lighting thing out so I can post more pics. Anywho, I hope everyone had a great holiday && I will be posting again for New Years.

Water Marbeling Nail Art | Chanel Addicted Nail Art

I had an idea in my head of what I was going to do to my nails and this design was no where close. lol I knew I wanted to do a water marble design but was having trouble finding polishes that would cooperate in the water and had to change colors a few times. I also was going to use the chanel canes, rhinestones, and pearls over solid black nails, but once I was done with the water marbling I thought the embellishments would match very well with the color scheme. I purchased the canes and what not from a store on etsy. (Link Below) Also, be aware that the shipping from this store takes a ridiculously long time.

Black Color:
Sinful Colors "Black on Black"
Gray Color: Pure Ice "Risk Taker"
Pink Color: Pure Ice "Outrageous"
Chanel Canes, Rhinestones, Pearls: http://www.etsy.com/shop/51mayan?ref=seller_info
Top Coat: Seche Vite

I had to put like 3 coats of top coat on to seal on all the decorations and I noticed it made my nails like a million times stronger. I might start getting top coat heavy on all my manicures now because nothing is worse than breaking your longest nail you spent months growing lol.

KONAD Nail Art | Cotton Candy Zebra Nail Art

I'm sure you seen plenty variations of this design lurking around the Internet. I really like these two colors together and they reminded me of cotton candy hence the title. I thought these colors would look really neat under some black zebra stripes and I think it would out pretty well.

Pink Color:
Sally Hansen "Byte" (2 coats)
Blue Color: Pure Ice "Pussy Cat"
Glitter Color: Pure Ice "Once Again"
Zebra Image: Konad M57
Black Color: Sinful Colors "Black on Black"
Top Coat: Seche Vite
